What is Decree ?
- It is defined in Section 2(2) of the Code of Civil Procedure Act. 1908
- A Decree Can only originate from a suit commenced by presenting a plaint.
- It determines the rights of the parties in all or any matter of the controversy.
- There is only one decree in a suit.
- A decree may be preliminary or final.
- Normally a decree is appealable.

What is Order ? –
- It is defined in Section 2(14) of the Code of Civil Procedure Act, 1908
- An order may originate from any suit, by presentation of a plaint or may arise from a proceeding commenced by a petition or an application.
- An order may or may not finally determines the rights of the parties.
- There can be many orders in a suit.
- There is no such orders like preliminary or Final Order
- Ever Order is not appealable.
